Thurø offers many exciting experiences

A trip on the harbor

It's always nice to go for a walk by the harbor. Gambøt Harbor on Thurø is certainly no exception. The old fishermen's houses are still located here and the fishermen often have their nets to dry, so that the special smell of port, water and tar hangs in the air. At Gambøt you will also find the very special ”Soother Tree”, where hundreds of children have safely deposited their pacifiers with great sadness. With a promise to return and see his pacifier along with hundreds of others, has caused many toddlers to give in and hand over the pacifier.

Thurø Rev

Thurø Rev is something quite special. It sticks its finger far into the water towards Langeland and it is wonderful to take a walk on the reef when the wind blows and the waves wash onto the beach. But it's also great to get on the reef when the weather is beautiful and the water is warm. Thurø Rev is also one of the best beaches to swim from and, in addition, it is an open-air beach – i.e. a beach where you do not need to wear swimwear when you jump into the water

The ferry M/F Helge

The veteran ferry Helge is a splendid little ferry that was built for Svendborg Sund at the beginning of the last century. It was of course also built in Svendborg and it has largely had its home port here ever since. From mid-May to mid-September, Helge sails on his daily trips and drops off passengers at several different locations along the coast. In the high season there are five departures a day, so you can go on a morning trip or an evening trip with Helge. You can jump aboard Helge in Grasten Bro on Thurø.

Thurø Minigolf

Visit Europe's funnest mini golf course, which is next door to Thurø Camping. Try the 20 hand-cast highly artistic cement courses with fun obstacles. Founded way back in 1951.

Smørmosen Strand

Just outside the boom at Thurø Camping you will find Svendborg's best beach, where there is of course a blue flag. A very friendly, child-friendly beach with a bathing bridge and a slide into the water. There is also a large play area and dining area.
